Scholarships offered at Fraser Coast Anglican College

Below are outlines of the Scholarships available at the College. For more information about the FCAC Scholarship Programs, please contact Mr Peter Carey, Director of Enrolments and Marketing on (07) 4124 5411.

Applications are now being taken from students for the following Scholarships:

PRINCIPAL’S DISCRETION SCHOLARSHIPS - YEARS 7 TO 12
Applications Close: Friday 5 September 2008

Students applying for a Principal’s Discretion Scholarship will exhibit strong leadership qualities, be a role model for their peers and be a “team player”. They will be an “all-rounder”, possessing skills and abilities in a variety of areas. To apply for a Principal’s Discretion Scholarship, please submit a short resume outlining academic, sporting, music, cultural and service achievements.

A covering letter, written by the student, indicating if there is a particular focus for their talents (eg sport, service) and their reasons for wishing to attend Fraser Coast Anglican College, should form part of the application. Short-listed applicants will be invited to an interview with the Principal. Principal’s Discretion Scholarships are provided for part remission of the published General Tuition fees.

URIEL SCHOLARSHIPS FOR CHRISTIAN & COMMUNITY SERVICE - YEARS 7 TO 12

The 2009 FCAC Uriel Scholarships for Christian & Community Service are open to students from any denomination in Years 7-12. Students must be able to demonstrate support for the Anglican or Christian ethos of the College. It would be expected that the student be able to demonstrate evidence of some form of community service. Applicants would need to be caring, compassionate, loving individuals who could live the values that Christ taught.

Applications should include a cover letter and supporting documentation (eg a letter of support from their local parish priest, community service leader, or teacher). Scholarships are provided for part remission of published general tuition fees.

MUSIC PERFORMANCE SCHOLARSHIPS

Applications are now being taken from students for the following Music Performance Scholarships available in 2009:
- Part remission of the College’s general tuition fee (applicable for Years 7-12)
- Part remission of the published music tuition fees (applicable for Years 7-12)
- Part remission of the published music tuition fees (applicable for FCAC students in Years 4-6)

Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of a successful audition which consists of two contrasting own chosen pieces (accompanist not essential), Aural Test and Sight reading Test. All instruments are welcomed. To apply for a Music Performance Scholarship, please complete an Application Form and return it with the non-refundable Audition Fee of $15.00 per student.

ACER - CSTP ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIPS (APPLICATIONS CLOSED)

Applications for the 2009 ACER Scholarships have closed. The application process for the 2010 round of scholarships for students entering into Years 8 and 11, 2010 will open early next year.
